Our Jubilee-edition coffee is... purple?!

It’s nearly a long weekend (when was the last time you finished on a Wednesday?) and the celebration of The Queen’s 70th anniversary.

So we tasked our head of coffee, Will, with finding a coffee to reserve for the occasion.

When he came back with a coffee he described as tasting “purple”, we were slightly taken aback.

Of course, purple is the royal colour, and it’s very suitable for the Jubilee, but we weren’t entirely convinced that a cup of joe could taste like a colour.

When we tried it, it blew us, and any concerns, away.

This is as juicy as coffee gets. Think explosive flavours of blackcurrant and blueberry, a syrupy sweetness, the acidity of a red grape and a full body.

The colour purple in a cup? This is the closest you’ll get. Get yours while stocks last.

Not to mention, it’s made by a very special woman.

Bufcoffee is a collective of smallholder farmers headed by Epiphanie Mukashyaka. Epiphanie survived the Rwandan genocide which, sadly, took her husbands life and continued with his coffee farming.

She is now the biggest employer in her community – supporting 608 women and coffee farmers socially and economically.
