About Corrégo Bonito

Our Head of coffee

Will says:

Milk chocolate, creamy characteristics fill this with cup, a light raisin, dried fruit sweetness complements them perfectly. The acidity is mild which allows the milk chocolate flavour characteristics to dominate even at the lighter roast level, coming with a full creamy mouthfeel.

About the region

This coffee comes from an area until recently unexplored in terms of specialty coffee, Ilicinea is a region from which most coffee has been shipped as commodity coffee, with even those farmers producing a higher quality product unable to gain access to the specialty market. Over the past two years we have begun working with a number of farmers in this region, Corrego Bonito being one of these, and have found interesting unique coffee grown on much smaller farms than are traditional in Brazil.

About the farm

Joaquim has been living on Corrego Bonito for 40 years now, with his mother and father. But it's not just coffee they grow - his mother also grows sweet fruit to sell in the city, supporting their income... which the workers enjoying drinking as a juice every morning before a day of coffee growing begins.

Working with Pact has meant they were able to buy a coffee drier, and keep improving the quality of their coffee. But they won't stop there - Joaquim wants to buy a coffee cherry sorter and try out different coffee varieties in the future.
