About the farm

Sixty years ago I was born in the municipality of Ragonvalia, Norte de Santander. From the time I was a child I got to know the cultivation of coffee, thanks to my father, who was the one who encouraged me to love this crop.

My farm El Tolú, is located in the path of Paso Antiguo, in the municipality of Herran, where together with my wife María Inés Contreras I have lived more than 36 years of marriage, a union that was born 28 years ago, my only son, Luis Alberto.

My great goal is to be able to renew all the coffee I have on my farm over the next few years, in order to maintain the production and quality of the grain, always seeking a balance with nature and the environment.

What makes you proud to be a coffee farmer?

Every day when I see my renewed coffee plantations I am motivated more and more to go forward. When I drink coffee cultivated by my own hands my heart is filled with joy, because I know it is the fruit of the work that I do with my family.
